Was wondering if someone could take some photos and measurements of there seat bases, as klonk didnt have any when I got him, he is a 1951.
Have been told that the middle one is a different size but the meausre ments of the holes in the seat box dont indicate this. Would the foam rubber out of S2 seats be the same. My dad has an industrial sewing machine, so we should be able to make the covers.

the 3 bases are all the same size .... Easy to make . I used plywood and some thin strips of that reddy colored wood (murboo) from Mitre 10 for the trim bits . Somebody said you can use a range rover rear bench seat as its the perfect profile for 80" foam seat bases ..but you only get two 80" bases per range rover seat .. your local wreckers might have rangy seats MIKE
PS I used rubber door stops for the locators..I reduced their diameter .. turned them down to fit in the holes

I have a 1951 and made my own bases as seen in the photos, they are probably not good enough for the rivet counters but work very well and are generally comfortable.
On the Bases, I used Timber (Mountain Ash/Tasmanian Oak) 50mm wide and 19mm Thick. The Bases overall dimension is 430mm X 430mm (17" X 17")
On the base I used 100mm Thick Medium Density Foam. and 40mm Thick Low density foam on the Backs.
The wife sew up the material, (I know its white, and believe it or not it is easy to keep clean)
I can take a photo of the underside if that helps.

Good photos they look good seats too. Was going to do mine plain green, but might look at some thing else. one of my backs has a green and blue tartin type pattern which looks quite good but may be hard to find material like that now.

I found these a while ago, but I dont know if 88 iinch and 80 inch are the same

SupporterDifferent bases. They are for 86" 88" as the exposed end of the wooden side rails are made to fit into slots in the back of the alloy seat box. The 80 has rubber "door stops" screwed to the bottom of the base that fit into holes in the seat box.
The foam bases should be tapered. High at the front and low at the back and the back cant be too thick or the back wont be able to be folded forward over the seat.

Well after lots of research and a few wet and windy nights, I finally got sissors to fabric.
The base is 17''x17'' same as Wal's but with some plywood sheet to put the foam on. The foam is high density 5'' thick, cut 17''x18'' to allow for the shaped front edge and tapered from 5'' front to 3'' rear. the seat backs have 1'' foam for padding.
The vinyl is from Spotlight and colour is Forest green, from a sample under the hinge on the seat back.
The piping around the edge is vinyl wrapped around a piping cord and sewn in with the rest, tricky to get the corners right.
As you can see they are in test mode and seem to be comfortable enough,but abit of work to finish off the bottoms yet.
Now all I need is the landy to but them in.
