    Diff pinion oil seal

    I need to replace rear diff pinion oil seal and drive flange.

    Have removed the drive flange, and have a couple of questions:

    Do I need to remove the oil seal retainer to replace the seal?

    The flared mud shield seems to be attached to the drive flange - is it pressed on or just stuck?

    Yes; remove the seal housing to replace the seal.

    The mud shield is pressed on,
