i wouldnt bother with a full resto either. it is in very good condition in and out. just a tidy up and general mechanical fix(hopefully). are you going to start a new thread on it? oh and what is it going to be called?
is it a late 88inch s1?
i am pretty sure that plate in the middle above the gearbox tunnel will have the chassis number on it
Your Series 1 looks very nice. And I guess that answers "where in Perth" to look for a Series 1!
John
South Australia is the place to be, i have found 2 good series 1's over there of late not to mention the couple that got away. The prices are oright and vehicles have fared better due to the dry conditions. Now who wants the 107 at Milicent that is now surplus to my requirements, Andy this is right up your alley!!!!
mike :)
Looks good Mike.
Definitely a lot better start to series one ownership than the 107" you found! There aren't many 88" series ones getting around Perth. There is one more now!
Now the fun part of getting it home and ready for a summer of fun.
Andy
Good find!!
Damn, my series vehicle trips may finally get some takers??!!!
Mike,
I think there was a period when the front grille panels were made of steel, my '56 has a steel panel (you can tell by the surface rust....).

Glad the Series 1 is going to a good home for a fair price.

Probably wrong, but I seem to remember reading that 88s & 109s went to steel, perhaps with the vibration of the diesel in mind. And, of course, being interchangeable, these could now be on any of them (well, not 80" - I don't think they are interchangeable)
