Series 1 truck cabs and windscreen hold downs.

The 80" have little "top hat" shaped rests on the bonnet and spring clamps that hold the windscreen. The 86/107/88/109" usually have two hinged brackets fitted on the inside of the windscreen top rail. When the screen is folded down these attach to the bonnet staples and are held in place by the bonnet-hold spring clamp.

The 107 and 109s have truck cabs and do not have these brackets fitted. Nor can they be fitted , as the retaining nut is missing. Also missing are the ''sharks teeth" on the outside to fit a canvas top.

    Do they?

I thought Land Rovers were Meccano sets with mix and match parts. As Land Rover used to advertise themselves, no two Land Rovers need to be the same.

I know that I have seen images of 107 and 109 in Africa without roofs, truck cabs and with the windscreen down.

My 107" Truck cab does not have the brackets but my spare parts 88" has them. The 88" was a soft top originally though.

    107

This is why when cleaning the front window of a 107" you do not rip your hands to threads like when cleaning a 86 window.
Nothing stopping you from fitting an 86 window to a 107 if you miss the blood and pain.
Have often looked at the brackets and their wing nuts on the top of the front windscreen and wondered what modern safety Gestapo would make of them.
