What is it with early Landy's finding holes?

Decades ago I had a load of young blokes in a 86" going for a night time shot,
the front wheel dropped through the grassy surface, into a hole caused by tunnel erosion. The less than graceful flying of young bloke's appearing in the spotlight remains a distinct memory.

Some fencing wire to repair the broken centre bolt, a dust off for the the one's that landed after their flight and a bit of sympathy for the front seat passenger was still gushing blood after cracking his head on the windscreen frame.
