    Series 1 parts suppliers

    Hi All,

I would like to get a list of suppliers that sell new or can recondition parts for our series 1 vehicles. Perhaps it could then be added to the sticky section. It would save a lot of time and trouble if I knew that Bob Smith at Woop woop does a great job of resleeving master cylinders or Fred Nerk from back of Burke can make my water pump like new. I see there are people in the UK who make up new wiring harnesses but has anyone tried them or is it easier to just get a auto sparky to make one up here. Perhaps our moderators could help here as well by preventing a site like this degenerating with only PM replys or question allowed. I imagine if you find a good service or parts provider we could pm the details to a moderator so it could be added to a list. Let me know what you all think if we agree it would be benificial we could give it a go. At this stage in my life I prefer to learn from others mistakes than make my own.LOL

Happy for you to compile a list, I will even make it a sticky.

Your other option is to do a search and find the information e.g. wiring loom http://www.aulro.com/afvb/series-i-l...ng#post1590782

The problem is that someone makes up a list and the next member has a problem with the vendor and tries to blame us for sending them to the somewhere they wasted their money.

There is also the recommended vendor area. http://www.aulro.com/afvb/australia-...nternet-based/

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

You can try and do the right thing and shop locally and support Australian Land Rover businesses, but most of the time you will pay extra to get the same part.

Set of core plugs for a 2 litre for example; from a major supplier in Victoria they are $44 for a set. For the same thing from Craddocks in the UK, £1.24 that is for a set!

It pays to shop around as for my last parts order it was cheaper to get all parts from the UK, including postage.

If you haven't already Mike, you should check out the Land Rover Series one club in Pomgolia, they have their own shop for spares and a wealth of info on their forum too.

Here is their link to parts suppliers

I will make up a list

AS I go through the process i will make up a list of those I find useful, helpful, reasonably priced or have excellent service or quality. Like wise anyone else who finds like wise let me know.

I had mine running last night at 10.oopm she gave in and started. I drove 50m down the road did a u turn and came back. Needs a water pump and some brakes would be helpful. The fuel pump is working after a clean and reassemble. A bonus after driveing it ,the master cylinder is now unseized possibly from the panick induced stomp approaching my garage door . Forgot I had no brakes for a second ahhhh LOL I will try and start her again today when the super cheap battery decides to be charged again and post a video.

I have done a series 1 80 inch from the chassis up.
it is a 1953 and some parts are different to other 80 inch models.
I have kept every receipt (not so I know the cost, scary ) but I can put a document together for others,
I buy lots of my parts from Anthony at British 4X4 Imports. (can supply his number)
I will put the list on the forum when I have finished it.
