For the generator, have a talk to a long established local auto electrician - I'd be surprised if there is not one in the Latrobe Valley. They are likely to be able to repair it or even have a replacement. Also, similar, if not identical, generators were fitted to most cars from the fifties and sixties, so a long established wrecker is a likely source. Many today fit alternators, which are more reliable (no off the shelf fittings for that engine though), but the generators are preferred if trying to be original.
