    lucas headlamp for lights behind the grill

    does any one have a pic of a real lucas lights behind the grill headlamp ie. part number 217271 ?

    and does the glass have ribs or are they flat?

    they can be either orignal are butler head lamps 5 inch

    They are very similar to the Butler lamps on a grey Fergy tractor, but be careful some of the tractor ones were only single filliament.

    according to lrsoc they were lucas not butler.

    butler were only used on mod vehickes of that era they reckon

    hi there a photo in the parts catalogue 1948 to 1953 page144 that a lucas the the only difference between the butler and lucas is the rim lucas has slight taper also glass is fluted

    i know they are very similar.

    the bases where they attach the pivot bolt to the lamp body is different as well it seems.

    i have 3 types here, two i believe to be proper lucas bodies but no glass and rims etc, a complete butler with badge intact and two of the bare co. tractor lamps new in boxes.

    the two lucas (?) and the butler have fine thread on the pivot bolt, the bare co lamps have a coarser threaded bolt.

    will take pictures if the rain ever stops ...

    will go through boxes i have the parts you require also still have rear number plate holder for the 107 flat bed maybe we can swop

    big storm here have found 2 fluted glass date stamped 48/ i part no 552282 does this help regards jim
