    perspex replacement

Hi I have a 57, 88inch. The perspex in the door top is cracked. Can someone give me any tips on how to get it out to replace it. Also do I replace it with clear perspex as the perspex is now white and I dont know if that is original or just gone opaque over time? I can't seem to see how to get the channels out which the panel slides along.Everything seems to be pop riveted in place without bolts to take out perspex which is wedged in to place. Thanks Nick

Can't tell you how to remove it, however you want to replace it with clear acrylic (perspex is the trade name for one brand of acrylic/PMMA).

Any laser cutting place should be able to cut you one to size, you will just need to sand/file the corners.

If not concerned too much with originality, polycarbonate is another option which should last longer.

I can't be sure, as it a long time since I had a Series 1, but I think it is the same as the 2/2a,3 - you have to remove the upper channel, held in place by tiny screws in the bottom of the channel.

    Hope this helps,
