    86" Horn

Can anyone show me a pic or describe where the horn goes on an 86".
The books just say the front crossmember but not where or how.
    Thanks.

The ones I have seen have the horn hanging down from the underside of the bonnet.

    Hi Keith

Don't take any notice of any of them !

If you look on top of the plate that blanks off the hole where the steering relay would be if it was built LHD, see if it has a threaded hole in the plate.

That's where the horn was on all the 86" Landy's that I have had anything to do with and the horn was the type that had the vibrating disk, without any trumpet.

The sound of that horn is the true voice of a 86".

Thats good, I wondered what that hole was for.
This is what I call the 4 hole 86". (Holes for tow plate)
The first chassis I was going to use,( 6 hole), also has the bolt hole in the relay blank plate but another 6 hole 86" chassis has not so I wonder where that horn goes.

    86"Horn

I think most people are right as there are differences across the 86" depending on production. I have been cannibalising 2 then 3, 86" to make one good one. On a very original 86 the horn was bolted to the underside of the radiator support panel. The others have the hole in the blanked off relay and were mounted to the chassis.

My 86" is on the underside of the bonnet (1956).
An 86" I parted out had it on the crossmember (1955).

1956 86" Original mounted under the bonnet and a 'spare' now disconnected.
