    Radiator hoses

Nothing in the "Sticky" but I remember someone was going to do a list.
What are you all using for hoses now or is it still a case of cut and shut whatever we can find?

4Wheel Drives in Melbourne usually carry them.

If you wander into Supercrap with an old hose you can usually match them up. I found a hose the other day that could be cut down for the top radiator hose I'll see if it still has the number on it.

I think the bottom or top hose still carry's a current number. Might be worth giving Fwd Yeerongpilly Brisbane and MR Automotive a call they might be able to lookup the old numbers.

I found a Toyota Corolla hose that actually cut down to do all three required hoses - radiator top and bottom and the thermostat bypass hose. I knew I should have written the part number down.

How about this for an idea... Stop worrying about trying to find a hose - or part of a hose that can be trimmed down to suit... instead, utilise lengths of straight metal pipe and use appropriate bendy bits for...the bends. Ideally, the pipe should be flared (like a bought one!) and I'm sure there is a plumber's gadget that makes the shape, - just don't know what it's called. This is the sort of thing I'm thinking of, though it may seem a little labour-intensive...

Just an idle thought at 12.37AM....

Edit:- Found this as well, appears to be inserted into the pipe, then the bolt screwed up which pushes the balls against the inner wall...and the tool rotated etc.

I think I also ended up with a Corolla hose for at least one of the hoses. I'll have to have a look in the shed......

Thanks for that Keith - any more information on which Range Rover hose to use?

    Cheers Charlie
