Thread: Swivel balls remachined and chromed or Reco.?

I have seen them exchange from the UK, though freight will be a pain for exchange. There are these blokes though. I havent used them myself yet but I have had good reports of them from the m/cycle fellas.

They have a photo of a Landy swivel ball on their site so may be viable.

All Four x Four do rechromed jobs.
I try avoid that place as a rule, but the swivels are nice, whoever they use does a nice job.

I spoke to that bloke at Rad Hard a couple of years ago and while he said he could do the job, he reckoned it was uneconomical compared to getting new ones. That was for a RRC not a Series 1 though, not sure how different they are.

You can get aftermarket Teflon ones now, not sure how good they are.

I asked about re-chroming at 4 Wheel Drives some time ago and was told they used to get it done but it was only economical for about 10 sets at a time. The demand has dropped off nowadays so they couldn't justify getting that many done to sit on the shelf.

I make a point of inspecting the chrome balls of old wrecks and if the price is right for the wreck, I have the value in those swivel pin housing balls.
