Great to see another 80 inch being restored. We have only just begun ours and are on a very steep learning curve, but things are gradually falling into place. I found the James Taylor book and a spare parts manual an excellent first up guide, but way better than both of those is the information on this Forum.
As for spare parts, I found that networking seems to get the best results. Ask on the Forum as you have been. Also, there would have to be Series 1's on properties within a few hundred Kms of you. Ask local mechanics / stock and station agents, any old timers who have been in the area for a while. Generally people don't want to sell, as the car belonged to 'Grand Dad' or they ask exorbitant prices, but occasionally you get a windfall, just offer a fair price when you find something.
As for the spring shackle bolts, some these seem to be special stepped bolts. Try to re-use the ones you have if that is possible. I doubt these will be available anywhere other than specialty Land Rover supplier or private Series owners. I am dealing with this currently as some of the bolts from our vehicle are quite worn.
Please keep posting with pics
