Well finally done phew, amazingly with little loss of skin or blood......so far.
Although while getting the last bits off the bulkhead and panel beating it I found some more rust :undecided:
Now of to the sand blaster, it will probably find some more bits of damage but will be sound once done.
Pulled the cover off the passenger toe board
One interesting point is some of the washers holding the toe boards on have had one side filed flat to clear the bulkhead, I will have to remember this for reassembly.
    That's it for now.

Well its been quite awhile since my last post.
Since then the chassis and bulkhead have been repaired and look very nice.
A big thankyou to Taz who has done a fantastic job of resurrecting the chassis and bulkhead. Keep looking at it and cant believe its the same one.
It was by no means an easy job however when looking inside the rear cross member and outriggers they were all in very good condition.

Next job now is to seal inside the chassis and bulkhead then get a coat of silver paint on the chassis.
Then onto the diffs to make a rolling chassis.

I can see one mistake , you have not got a pull wire in the chassis to pull the wiring through . Not going to be easy now.

    Hi Wayne, yes well spotted.
Lucky its not a LWB, I have come up with a solution for threading the wiring though but this will be done after the chassis is sealed inside and painted silver outside. It will be a future Brendan problem
Unfortunately work is going to hinder any quick progress this year but Ill get little bits done here and there.
Next I will look at breaking the diffs down into component parts and do a little bit when I can.

There is a easy way, First; leave the rubber grommets out till the loom is installed.
Obtain a length of 'Yellow Tongue', that is found in the mating edge of chipboard flooring panels.
Drill a hole near the end of the 'Yellow Tongue' and attach a length of 'Brickies Line' into the hole.
Push the 'Yellow Tongue' and line inside the chassis through to the other end, with a piece of coat hanger wire fashion a small hook, then use this hook to pull the Brickies line up out of the chassis, then tie the wiring loom onto the 'Brickies Line' and pull the whole lot back through.
Having got all this gear already made up here at my place, I can do this job quicker than the time it's taken to type this up.
    .

Thanks for the very good suggestion Arthur, I will give it a go.

Also are you still interested in the 2ltr Diesel engines that I have up north??
I have to look at moving them soonish.

    Thanks

    Been awhile since last post,

Recently managed to contact a previous owner of the vehicle and received some interesting information.
It was originally owned by a sawmill in Far North QLD, from there it was owned by the person I contacted from the early 80's then given to the Person that I purchased the vehicle from in the 90's.
So that makes me the 4th owner.
Also by all accounts the vehicle has been pulled apart since the late 60's early 70's. I was told that when the 2nd owner picked it up it had been pulled apart for 20 odd years.
Also he had to rummage through an old igloo (WW2 half round building) where it was spread all over the place, he spent 4 hours looking for parts.
By all accounts the engine (pulled apart) and gearbox were with it then.
So gives me a bit more info to play with and more research to do
