I guess they not only cut it, they supplied it.
it's pretty special glass.

Is/was it Armourplate or Laminated ? I would be inclined to replace it with Laminated,it should be available in 5mm.

Luckily it was Laminated. After my first breakage ,which happened about 12 years ago I made a point of always having laminated glass on the drivers side. Breaking a Toughened glass windscreen at speed on a busy road was the most terrifying and dangerous experience that I've ever had in a L/R. Toughened glass windscreens should really be banned on road registered cars. .W.

Were you aware that up until the late 60's early 70's Laminated glass was banned in Aust. the reason,ACI Australia did not have the technology to make it,I and my workmates used to spend lunch times smashing windscreens from Mini Coopers and S's after they were changed out for shatterproof It was only the increase in Japanese cars with Laminated screens that changed it, "We build for the World" so it was Laminated & Tinted screens that we got, as well as tinted side/rear glass, Australia had to fall in line,that lead to the advent of the "Australian Design Rules" an effort to protect Australian manufacturers.

It will be interesting to see in future years when Australian vehicle manufacturing ceases, what will become of the protectionist ADR's will they cease of will they be used to limit imports.
