Welcome Langers! Glad to see that the restoration of Wombat will continue. I was quietly worried it would end up spread around the country in bits. Look forward to the progress.

I see you are local too.. Don't forget its Melrose Land Rover Show this weekend.. Quite a few forum members will be there!

Thanks, I am in Clare this weekend and quite frankly that's far enough. Hugo (4) was complaining that we weren't there yet at Woodside (I live in Crafers) only 20 minutes into the journey! I passed through Your neck of the woods on the way here actually.

The thought of Crackers' project ending up being separated was one motivating factor to take it on. Though big credit to Crackers it was not his intention to let that happen.

Well, I'm free of the rotten thing now. Langers has been foolish enough to drag away the last pitiful remains (man them chassis are heavy). My Moggy is luxuriating in all that space in the shed, planning new oil stains, new dramas.

I do confess that I'm enjoying having a vehicle I can drive and enjoy while doing it up. I don't regret taking on Wombat and learned a lot about myself in the short time I had her. This next project is a very different beast, not because of the type of vehicle, but because I'm hoping to keep her on the road as much as possible while doing her up - you can assume my concourse scores will be pretty poor for some time to come, if they ever improve.

As it is, my Moggy's entered in her first Classic car event next weekend, she'll be in the Bay to Birdwood later in the year, not to mention club runs and events in between, all things that would have been denied to me with a vehicle sitting in the shed doing a bare chassis up restoration.

Langers has the best of both worlds - a 109 torment him and a 107 to restore.

I hope you have better luck than I did going down the registered route. I've found the whole 109 experience very frustrating watching the rego clock ticking on while Woodstock's been floundering in the shed. With hindsight , I should have stuck with my Courier and done up the series 1. Anyway, a lesson learned. Where's the pictures of the Moggie?
    cheers,

    Hello Crackers,

Hmmm I have scrolled down through your last set of messages looking for a gap in my knowledge to be filled; or to perhaps come across a hyper-link that will explain things.... alas it was to no avail.

To me and my understanding of English colloquialisms a "moggy" is a cat.... Yes cats do go into sheds and they do see, conquer and mark their territory. Sort of at a significant stretch their marking their territory could be loosely associated with "oil stains"; very loosely.

"...my Moggy's entered in her first Classic car event ... well that bit takes it outside of the realm of things Felis domesticus.

Therefore, you have seemed to have perhaps acquired a MG of some kind. In that case...

    Kind Regards
    Lionel

That's quite sweet. Did they ever come in any other colour than that? That's all I've ever seen them in.

She's a sweetie alright, though no fireball in her current state... and definitely showing her age in just about every respect. Lots to work on.

They did come in other colours but there seem to be a lot in Sky Blue.

    Hello Crackers,

A better link would have been the "permalink" located in the right hand corner of each message Wanted: MG

Just right click on the word "permalink" and a drop-down options list appears. Choose the option "Copy Link Location". Then paste this into your new message. The link will then take the reader straight to the exact one; in this case the posting with the Morris photographs.

I had a colleague who restored a woody Morris wagon that was his pride and joy. He originally bought it as a basket case.

    Kind Regards
    Lionel
