Welcome to the asylum mate. Good to see another Series 1... and an early one at that - she would have been well and truly run in when mine arrived. Still got the original motor?

Looking forward to the build. You've made a good choice in the Landy to get into car restoration - all pretty straightforward with the benefit that they bolt together and are made of aluminium (none of this poofy welding or mucking about with rust... apart from the chassis).

Enjoy the journey... and remember, it doesn't exist without photos

    Welcome to the club.

Make friends with wrinklearthur he's in Hobart, Arthur has lots of knowledge about S1's.

The land rover series one club in England will also be a good source of info for these early ones.

    Cheers Steve

    Thank you

will get some photos soon and try and work out how to use this computer properly which may take me a while The landies original motor has sadly long gone and at the moment it has a vanguard engine fitted which runs fine and has plenty of power but a 1600 motor is on the list of parts i need The chassis apart from a farm gate type bull bar welded to it is good as is firewall and most the body panels The pull chain gearbox diffs ect all seem to be working fine Brakes are not there at all so i think i will start with them as i have sold my house to my son and now live in balfour where i am moving the landie to start repairing her The track in to balfour is about 2 miles of 4x4 driving and i plan on driving the landie in here so will post some photos of her first trip for some time Thank you for your advice on contacting wrinklearthur which i will do shortly cheers
