I have an s1 (53), it's speedo notes 1500 which I understand means it should have 6.5 x 16s. It currently has 7.5x16s.. Can I simply put 6.5s back on or will they not fit...? Ps one of the tyres is a road track major, indicating the age....!

Maybe, depends on the rims fitted I think. What are the part numbers.

RTM's were still available new back in 2008 (but made in Malaysia).

    Question

The 4 on the car are 272309, the spare is 231602. All have various brands of 7.5 x 16s on them..
    Thanks

    272309 are for the LWB so suited to 7.50 x 16 http://www.series123.com/AUShomepage...x82/index.html
Not sure about 231602 (there is a 231601). There's a thread on the forum covering wheel part numbers, I'll have to look for it.

    Here is one thread http://www.aulro.com/afvb/series-i-l...s-rims-id.html

My apologies that's a typo courtesy of using iPhone...the spare is indeed 231601. Also 10 52 stamped on it which I assume is date of manufacture(?). But it definitely has a 7.5 tyre on it (Bridgestone jeep service). So am I best sticking with 7.5s all around?

You're probably not meant to put a 7.50 on the 231601 rim which is narrower than the others. That's not to say that others haven't done it without any problems.
