Yea could be an 80" but it wouldn't fit in your collection, it would be too short. Best let me pop over to make sure.

That disappeared from the hills for a long time at least from view.

    Pretty straight too.

Straight as a die too! A beaut 80 with patina, get it roadworthy and keep it
As is, it is a survivor..

I thought there was a 2a 88 in that yard too?

Ok so I went back to have a chat to the owner today, nice bloke too. He is the third owner and he bought it from a farm in Carey Gully (Adelaide Hills) 3 years ago. Since owning it he has replaced the clutch, gone through the brakes, rebuilt the carby etc so it runs with its original motor. It is a keeper for him which is great, as long as it is preserved. His intention is to register it and run around in it as is. This got me thinking that I should do the same with the 109 inch I have.

Interestingly under the dark paint you see in the pics (more attached) there is a distinct coat of red coming through. The story is that back in the day if you had fire equipment in your vehicle and lived in the Adelaide Hills you were exempt from registration.

All in all a worthwhile exercise. I haven't walked away with an 80 inch but I have got some direction for the 109 just get it on the road and make it pretty later.

Digger, there was no 2a in his yard, but he has a nice white late model Defender 110.

    Cheers Andrew

Last pic - for some reason they all wouldn't upload in the same message.

Nice find. I like the old style SA plates. My 86" had one of them on the front when I first got it. I wonder if the vehicle history can be tracked from these plates?
