    Another Paint code request

Has anyone found a paint code in Australia that works for RAF Blue? I took the BS381C-633 down to my local Paint Supplier today, who checked all his sources, before ringing his paint supplier who has checked all their resources and I still have no idea of a formula.

From investigation into other colours it seems that pigments have changed over the years so a code may be next to worthless anyway.

Most paint suppliers I've visited want a sample to match to.

Googled the BS381C and came up with a color chart but it doesn't include 633 ??
British Standard BS381C COLOUR CHART for paints

Found it here http://technicalpaintservices.co.uk/...olour-chart/88 but it looks more like grey (but can't really tell on a computer screen anyway).

    Here called RAF Blue/Grey http://www.britishstandardcolour.com/

If you don't have a sample see if you can get a colour sample posted from the UK maybe.

    Hello Grazza,

What period - year of RAF blue are you after? There may have been variations in the blend over a period of time. It would help to know what era you are after.

You could try this link, accessed June 8th from, http://encycolorpedia.com/5d8aa8

Wikipedia also have some information after a bit of a scroll down to reach RAF Air force Blue. Accessed June 8th from, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_Force_blue

    Kind Regards

Found it. Protec Paints have what appears to the correct RAF Blue. Got an aerosol can mixed at a local paint supplier today and while I haven't sprayed any of it, what the girl spilt while she was mixing it, looks about right. Now I just have to find a code for Sand.

    Hiyas

Did think, how about trying the modeller's paint racks and colour schemes. At least one might get a correct colour/shade and then have "big" paint mixers have a go.

    Cheers
