    Factory rebuilt Series ones.

I cant see it mentioned before but Land Rover are sourcing cars from Australia and rebuilding them for resale.

good news if you are selling and bad news if you are buying I would imagine. I'm glad I bought mine when I did - even though I've done nothing with it and its still floundering in the old stables.(apologies Simon).
    cheers,

    Longstanding practice

    Yes,

Number 1 was sold bearing its' original Annand and Thompson delivery plates.

UK mags like Classic Land Rover regularly feature restorations based on vehicles that have either been retrieved from here or have significant panels (bulkheads especially) from here.

As Dark says - good if you are selling one, not so good if you are looking for one. Arguments could rage indefinitely over free rights to sell any property you like and losing some local automotive heritage. As an aside, if you happened to be in NZ you may find it necessary to get a heritage clearance before an export permit is granted. A local friend had to do that to bring his own 38 Vauxhall across from Motueka. He actually had to surrender the original Motueka 1 number plate as part of the process.

    Cheers,

    Neil
