    You are right ,the chassis number confirms that it is a 86" 55 S1. .W.

    It's definitely a Series 1 86" firewall.

    Yes, definitely Series 1, but it has been extensively modified, in some respects updated.

    You will haveto decide whether to restore it in its "updated" form, or revert to original. Or something in between.

    I have a complete 57 with a really bad chassis is all the running ok to use in the 55

    The 57 engine/gearbox should be very close to the 55 Car , basicly just bolt it in. There's a few strange parts on the 1955 models but visually the same

    Bypass oil filter on siamese bore (early 2 litre) and full flow filter on spread bore. The latter should be from '55 on.
