    Fuel tank sender unit.

    Hiyas

Started on my fuel tanks, yep two LH RH. Sender units are dickey! (Am also building a LH outrigger to carry LH one.)

Anyway, one looks OK and seems to work with a variable resistance - sometimes. The other, the resistance coil is worn through and knackered. N

Replacement sender units run at around $A300. Arguably they are not going to last particularly long for the same reason. The lacquered varnished coil wire has worn through and hence no, or dickey circuit.

Anyone have actual full empty resistance figures for 80"? Will then see about rewinding both coils, and that challenge will be obtaining the appropriate coil wire.

    Cheers

They are probably the same coil resistance up to 1967 when the gauges changed. So a measurement on a later one would do.

Found this link awhile ago, really helpful. Same as the 80"
