    Double vent

    Hi.
Was looking at some S1 pics. Noticed early one have a single, full length vent. Later ones have a double air vent. What year did the change.
    Thanks.

I am pretty certain it was 1953, with the 86". Prior to that the vent was, in fact, optional, although I think all, or almost all, Australian ones will have the vent.

    Full-Width or Half-Width Vents

    Erm,
JDNSW's answer is right in one respect: the change was made in 1953, but to the '54 model year vehicles, 86 and 107 inch wheelbase.
    The other obvious differences are:
Dash panel more like a Series 2
Trailing edge of doors now vertical
    Recessed exterior door-lock levers
    2-litre "spreadbore" engine

    Trusting this helps clarifying.

    Cheers, Rob S

I actually meant after the 1953 model, but my post was not clear - thanks for confirming it was with the 86, as I thought.
