    Gearbox serial no

Hi I am restoring a 1955 107 pick up. I’m having problems identifying the gearbox, I know it’s the correct year by the first no, but the fourth number I’m unable to find in any book.
Serial no is 5712 0165. The 2 doesn’t seem to exist.
    Any help would be great
    thanks

I'm only surmising here, however engines, gearboxes and front axles in RHD vehicles always followed the sequence of RHD Home market (571*****)irrespective of whether it was Home Market, Export Market or CKD (at least that is true of 80" models). It is quite possible that there were more that 19999 1957 107inch RHD models made, which would give you a gearbox serial of 5712****. As a check take a look at the serial number on the top of your front axle and see what the serial is of that assembly. If it's a 5712**** then you have your answer.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
