Try Penetrol – nothing else compares.
Hi All
just getting into rubbing back my body panels in preparation for undercoating and painting.
in some places there is corrosion and slight pitting of the alloy (nesting birds above in the garage caused some of this).
What have people used to "kill" the corrosion so it does not come back through the paint?
On steel I use deoxidine type product and this works well. Not sure what is the best for Birmabright alloy though.
Cheers Paul
Try Penetrol – nothing else compares.
Penetrol seals the surface and keeps air out.
This type of product removes oxides and cleans the surface Septone Ali Brite Aluminium Cleaner - 1 Litre - BCF Australia
There are a lot of similar products but to be honest I don't have extensive experience and have only used it to etch the surface of aluminium before painting.

Thanks i will try both ideas as you can see the drivers side guard feels like sandpaper the corrosion is quite bad where as the passenger one is fine.
