My memory says the hole is threaded and should have a very small grub screw in it. Even if that is not the case, this is the approach I would use. Thread, if I'm right, would be BA.

20190112_184636.jpgLooking for ideas as to how to re connect choke cable to choke control pull on my Series 1 88". Not exactly sure how it was originally retained. Seems like the wire might have been slightly flattened or distorted through hole drilled at the side. Would this have been standard practice? Any ideas as to better method of retaining would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Tim.

From memory mine was held in by a grub screw , but my memory is not so good that was 30 odd years ago.Parts book only shows full assembly .
On mine the solid wire is pushed in the end and then bent over with a suitable punch in the cross hole.
There is no thread in the hole.
Seems to work ok, never has a problem with it.
Cheers,
Terry

Many thanks, guys. Hole through side doesn't seem to be threaded. Bending wire through hole looks best option. Just wondering if some solder worked in might be good. Belt and braces approach?
Thanks, & cheers,
Tim.
It is quite possible they started with a grub screw and later found that just bending the wire worked.
