Gentlemen,
Continuing my battle to locate correct seals, I searched for the seal that retains the windscreen glass in the frame on a S1. The Parts Book show part number 261618, which is a flat piece of rubber, rather than the U shaped channel I was expecting.
Has anyone identified a U shaped rubber extrusion that fits this need and saves what appears to be a nightmare job of having to fold a flat rubber seal around the glass's edge while forcing it into the channel while truing to keep it straight and without breaking, chipping or cracking the glass?

SupporterI set the windscreen in butyl rubber strip, same as the fixed front side windows in a Series II or III.
Four Wheel Drives used to supply it but it was a strange blue/grey colour. I managed to bulk buy some in black years ago..

I've been using 9x16 mm U-section rubber which I bought from Clark Rubber many years ago. I've had four broken windscreens in the last 20 years (S1 109) After I broke the first one at the beginning of a long trip, 400 km from home, I never used sealant again. I've been able to reuse the old U-section ever since (that's why I've still got the spare one) Surprisingly only a few drops of water leak in now and then, not a cascade as one would expect

Clark rubber u shape worked ok but was a tight fit with laminated glass. Ended up using rubber grease to make it easier to position the glass within the u shape rubber and then manoeuvre it into position on the frame. Hardest part was dealing with the corner L shape brackets and screws whilst positioning the glass .
