Gentlemen,
My issues with getting a good seal in the Series 1 Canister Oil Filter seem to be caused by the central hollow rod being slightly bent, causing the canister to wobble as it is tightened up. It must have received a pretty substantial thump at some stage, since it was removed from the car.
Mt research tells me that I have 3 possible options.
1. Locate a replacement hollow rod and re-use the canister I already have. Bit unsure if that is a good idea or not.
2. Find a supplier who can sell me a Spin-on Oil Filter Adaptor for Land Rover Series - they seem to be hard to find.
3 Find someone who may have an old Series 2 in bits, that has a spin-on Oil adaptor which I believe can be retro-fitted into any 4 cylinder Series engine.

Can anyone help with either of these three options?
