Yes think we are talking about the same guy. He has taken photo's of every thing he has done & checked through the photo's to check the things I told him to check like the plug in the front part of the oil gallery behind the cam gear. He received the drive shaft I sent him yesterday so am waiting to hear from him after he lengthens the drive shaft.

    AN UPDATE

I had a call from my friend yesterday , it looks like he has found the reason for his lack of oil pressure. It looks like the engine shop had taken out the two retaining bolts that hold the oil gallery in the block & when they fitted the galleries have not fitted the bolts. One of the photo's shows the block before it went for marching & second shows the missing bolts.
IMG_9876.jpg IMG_9865.jpg Friend said that when he turned the oil pump with the dist drive shaft in a drill the oil just pored out of these two holes, now he is on the hunt for the correct bolts & lock tabs.

Good detective work! It had to be something along those lines. If you can't find them, I should have some in the shed you can have. Use a suitable Loctite threadlocker/ retaining compound to keep them in place. I just dismantled a large final drive sprocket nut that was fitted with 680 loctite 20 years ago and it wouldn't undo without heat application. Just ensure that the product is oil resistant and can operate at 150C. Mike. 5380

A win-win situation. A happy ending and we all learned a bit more about our Landies.
