Interesting bit of radio history - when I fitted a (transistor) radio to my 2a in 1966 or 7 I also fitted a shortwave converter - how many remember the shortwave service for remote areas? (ABC programs).

The radio I have in my Defender now has 2 SW bands. I used to be able to get an ABC SW service from pretty much anywhere out bush. Alas they've now had to cancel the service due to funding cuts.
