Ive done something very wrong to my Accelerator Pump and now need help

I decided to overhaul the Carburettor from my 1953 S1 80".
    Simple right?

Well I've done something to the accelerator pump, (no idea what) and I'm completely at loss of what I've done wrong.

The Accelerator pump body with the diaphragms and internal springs operates the pump by pulling the Accelerator pump's "arm" inwards towards the carburettor body (Image 2) . The internal springs push it back out again when at rest. (image 1)
HOWEVER, somehow, I have it so that the accelerator acts to rotate the butterfly outwards, away from the carburettor body. The cam on the throttle shaft rotates to PUSH the Accelerator pump's activation outwards, which just compresss the spring as the accelerator arm is hard against its stop. (image 3)

What on Earth have I done wrong?

Many thanks for any advice and help
    regards

I don't have a Series 1 manual, but assuming the setup is the same as the Series 2 Solex -

    1. The fitting on the throttle shaftneed to be taken off and put back on rotated 180 degrees so it is above the shaft

2.There should be a split pin and washers on the other side of the pump arm. Washers are inserted to give 0.5mm free play when the idling speed screw is completely unscrewed. This ensures no free play in the pump operation.

    Hope this helps.
