    shims for diffs

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows where I might get shims (pinion end and flange end) for my 1958 109 diffs in Australia - I haven't been able to locate any at the usual suppliers?

The UK shops tend to be out of stock or charging in the range of 5-15 pounds per individual shim depending on the shop and the shim thickness.

A friend has suggested cutting my own shims from shim metal sheets - if I did, how precise I would need to be in terms of the inner and outer diameters?

Thanks in advance for any and all advice.

A company that rebuild diffs might be able to help.

Ashcroft in the UK supply a 'kit' at reasonable price.
