At least with the exchange rate currently more in favour of us than it has been for the last few decades, profitability of the Land Rover repatriation business is reduced, so the rate of will slow somewhat.

    buying in England

just a note to the uneducated
I have been to the U.K. 4 times in the last 9 years
buying a lot of gear far, far cheaper than here
including 3 tilts, looms, etc etc
having rebuilt 3 cars during this time
I could not do this without the U.K.
so get your gear were you can
    cheers

I guess the difference is that we/you are buying new or NOS parts from where ever they are found and I don't feel anyone objects to that.

The other side of the issue, and I am somewhat conflicted myself, is the removal of items like firewalls that are not reproduced here and taking the assembly, complete with the vehicle ID plates back to places like the UK leaving the remains here. The cost to us here, merely for the shipping of a reproduction firewall, is often more than a new firewall costs to UK residents.

    Hi Diana
    I agree with you
I would rather see the old girls going around
    than seeing bits going back
a 80' fire wall with a i.d. plate does not make a car when the rest is 25,000 kms away
good to see you still riding shotgun on the troops
    cheers
