The engine appears to be out of a later 2a or 3 - it has the later shallow thermostat casting in the head - and it has a radiator from a Series 2-2a - the Series 1 unit's core doesn't fill the whole rad panel area. Also, it doesn't have a hand throttle, which (if I recall correctly) was standard on all diesels.

instrament panel
hey i am doin up 2 series 1s 1953s and the main thing missing are the instrament panels ive been looking for a while but cant find 1 or 1 that doesnt cost more than the rest of the car so if any1 can find me one from where ever thatll be great!!!!!

I kind of like it. Nice colour, parabolics,sals diff etc. Not original, but nice. I think it is another case of trying to recoup the money spent on it. You never know - someone may take him up on it. I hope so, because that'll make my 107 worth a few grand more;):angel:

I think that if it had a wooden tray with polished wood would have looked alot better and not look out of place and still be quite usable aswell.

I might pop in and have a look at that one. It's just around the corner from me.
I'd love the engine for ol'ute but would be a shame to dismantle it if it is a goer. Those seats look funny :lol2:
