"Looked like" is one thing, any repro can look like it. Maybe even look better. The thing is... metal and steel was not cheap and not readily available at the time due to the war consumption previously. Government put on metal and steel restrictions but aluminium was available in abundance due to the diminished use of it in the airplane industry. Why would Land Rover build with aluminium but have the first badges in "heavy metal", while later it did use aluminium for its badges. It could be possible and I am just wondering...???

    Anyone?

    These are cast type.

    Close up of Huey

If you google around you'll see plenty of early 80's with this type. They appear on ebay from time to time and sell for $50 to $100 usually.
As it is a simple design it would be easy enough to copy it - so therefore from a simple picture you can't definitively say - the design however is accurate.
I've got a feeling they were brass.
Don't forget there was plenty of steel - even in the early ones.
    (Chassis, Firewall, Engine, Transmission etc.)
    The aluminimum badges like:

    Didn't appear til later.

Maybe these are other ones? These are the boddies only and there are bids on them now (GBP 51.00 (approximately AU $102.88)) so they are selling.

Much less than the complete set fo two (starting AUD 600) on the other listing previously which didn't go. But since this is only boddies I find it still a lot.

Yes you are correct - I assumed they were the ones on Ebay Aust but these are on the UK site. They will go up in cost before the auction closes.

I have gone at looked over this 80" & I have to say it is in great cond for its age. There is bugger all rust if any & the pannels are nice & stright.
If I had the money I would have bought it.

    Isn't it lovely
Tickford's are my favourite series 1s. Mind you, I would want a straight wing for that money. I guess, AU$100,000 by the time you get it here?!

This vehicle appears to be being sold by Dunsfold's. I didn't think they would sell a vehicle like this unless they had a better one.
