Yes it did sell and sold to an enthusiast who only recently completed a very authentic restoration of an 86" 1954 model.
Unfortunately you are incorrect DeeJay as the engine was running.
As a pre-1500 car number with mostly original fittings it is one of the rarer 1948 models and worth restoring.
The vendors and benefactors of the auction - the CFA are well pleased with the result.
On ebay with a world wide audience it may have gone for much more.

P.S. I feel the vendor has both a right to privacy and that also applies to the price. If you wanted to know the result maybe you should have popped over and had a bid.

Yes, I am happy for where it has gone, his recent restoration is very well presented, although I haven't seen it IRL and was completed reasonably quickly.
Apparently, there were others at the auction where it may have remained in a collection of unrestored vehicles for some time and others who just wanted it as a paddock basher.

I believe that you have 1 unrestored vehicle and 3 running Land Rovers in your family there are others who have 10 unrestored 80" models etc. At the LR Expo in Penrith a few months ago there was a young chap who caught the train down from Coffs Harbour who maintains that he has 23 Land Rovers in his back yard. None of them running.
Having a couple of future projects in store is not an issue, but there must be limits.

Hi Dianna,
think I saw you at the gathering at Gembrook , I have been busy pulling my 50 model down and have found a late 49 model that really needs a chassis ,if i remember rightly you said you had a good narrow spring chassis ? cheers Tim
