Someone is trying to tell me that u can fit series 2 or 3 front panels on a series 1, to the bestof my knowledge this has to be frogsh1t, the one is shorter, narrower, and the body line is much lower on the S1, the bonnets would have to be shorter and narrower etc am I right or wrong?

you can fit anything to anything if you have enough time effort and money available.

Yes, some people do ambitious things. I once saw a Lotus-Ford Twin Cam engine installed East-West on a mini transmission in a mini. Owner was very pleased with himself but admitted that half-way through he decided never to attempt anything like it ever again.

I have a Series II grille panel on the front of my Series I. It was the correct width, but about 50 mm too tall. I sectioned it near the bottom to achieve the correct height.

As has been said....you can fit anything to anything.....but, only the right panels fit Series 1's. ie 80" for 80" (and some of those are different), 86" front for 86" and 107" (too short for 88", but may fit 80") and of course 88" front for 88" and 109".

Rear tubs for 86" and 88" should be the same.

The chassis rails are in the same position (width wise).

The series 2 88" tub has the same internal dimensions (width X length) as the series 1.

However the waist on the series 2 puts the edge of the guards further out. Therefore the inner guards would need to be slimmed down.

There was a pic on one of the fora of a S1 in Indonesia or Malaysia with S2 outer guard panels. But it was easy to pick. So is some respects you can do it.

As has been said - anything is possible given, time, money and desire.
