    Restoring tips?

Without having access to a blasting cabinet, whats the best way to clean small components that have surface rust and years of built up grime and rubbish without upsetting the matrimonial harmony, I was chased out the kitchen for degreasing my choke unit in the sink.
Lastly, my choke set up has the light switch on the back of the bracket this is operated by the inner choke cable, my inner is gone can I retro something into the original outer cable and still have the light work, anyone tried it before?

From memory the wire inner was just a wire kinked within the shaft of the push pull knob. You should be able to replace it Unless you have soaked the mechanism in some sort of acid and destroyed it.

P.S. When you mean gone do you mean rusted/broken or gone altogether (missing)?

Well madam it does not state in the warranty that you can not use your dishwasher for parts cleaning, but my I suggest you use a good quality grease cutting detergent!!!!!!!!!!

As Diana has said... I did mine the other day, replacing the inner with a $7.50 choke cable from supercheap. kinked the end and trimmed her up when it was in place - after running it thru the outer section. Works well.
