There are not a whole lot of differences between the 1949 and the 1950's up till the last few thousand, so you could easily do your resto on your 1949 using the best body bits from both then re assemble the 1950 with the remaining bits.

Whatever the result they will be 1949 and 1950 with known histories.

You are right they do cost a lot of money to restore, but your "49 looks to be in fantastic condition! Even the springs look reclaimable! I wish mine had had a rear crossmember and tow bar that looked like that :D

I agree that making it into a coiler would be a crime,

You know what.. That would work as only changes I can see
are seats and rad suport body wise. Just opened another can of worms:eek:
If I only had more spare time:( I have heaps of unfinished Restoration projects already.
Five others are .. A Case DEX Tractor came here new in 1936. A 51 Model bedford truck Also came here new. 76 ZG Fairlane, 79 model Alfa Romeo, 84 ph2 RRC(Almost done). Let alone my Rangie build up and the LR 110 120":eek: I think I need to count my days:o May be pass a few of these on.:(

The only numbers I can find so far on a plate on the engine side of bulkhead.
Car No 06108399. Does this tell us anything?

Without my book near me, I think that means a 1950 date, because the first zero refers to the zero in 1950.

If you clean the muck and grime off the left hand engine mount you should be able to read the chassis number there as well,
