How did you get the alloy parts so clean, like the gearbox and distributor??? Was it just a solvent or one of those alkaline degreasers which make the metal fizz? or did you use some sort abrasive blasting?
I love to get parts that clean but in the past used petrol or kero and I get sick of the fumes.

    clraning

    Hi Hartley
it takes as long to clean as to rebuild
Degrease, pressure wash, acid wash, rotary steel brush, steel pot scrubbers, elbow grease, sand blasting etc, etc. And a few more I have not mentioned.
Sometimes it is easy, most times it's a lot of hard work.
    cheers
