    G'day all,

    Just wondering is there any other way to get the year model for my car without the plate located in the cab? , I only noticed that its been taken off the car last night

    Yes if you post the chassis number here we should be able to help you.

    You can find the chassis number on the right hand front spring hanger. I think thats the correct for 86"/88" hopefully someone will confirm this.

    Hi theres

    As per the series one book:

    Vehicle serial Number

    The vehicle serial number will be found on the transfer box instruction plate on the dash panel over the gearbox cover. Is the same number as the chassis number, which is stanped on the right hand front spring shakle bracket.


    I think thats the correct for 86"/88" hopefully someone will confirm this

    Yep left rear spring hanger for 86-88 etc,the book is wrong not the front,some CKD 86" were stamped on the top of the chassis on the L/H side.
    if the LR is an 80" it will be stamped on the L/H engine mounting,the chassis part of the mount,lift the bonnet and look straight down onto the mount and there should be a chassis number and a build number.might have to wire brush it though.
