I use
Dayco 17A0990 Made in USA fits perfect.
Hi there MikeCould you maybe, tell us the brand of the broken belt...
It wouldnt be fair - as the belt was new / but old stock and I suspect the fatigue could have been the main problem why it failed/broke.
But many thanks for the part-belt number as I will order a couple of spares next week when I get home from work
All the best

CBC is Consolidated Bearing Company. They are the bearing shop that has a couple of offices around Adelaide. The other one is Bearing Supply Company. CBC is 1Km from me, BSC is 5Km from me. I find the salesman in CBC much more friendly and helpful. The belts I use are Gates brand, mand in USA. They last a lot longer. They are the brand that a lot of people use in machinery.
Aaron.
Until about 18 months ago, US owned Gates brand radiator hoses and V belts were also made in Nowra NSW, until they decided that the Filippinos worked for less so the Ozzies deserved to be unemployed.
They transferred the entire plant including equipment to the Philippines.
Do we make anything in this country anymore?
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
A country should only make things that has a competitive advantage - if an item has a large manual labour content then I am afraid Australia does not have a competitive advantage - Macro Economics 101.
I am surprised that we still make many things that we do - the main reason we make some things that we do is because our advantage is not in cost - but quality - but when third worls countries catch up - we will be history.
