This is the same for the SII/SIIA with the single wipers. It is even easier in a deisel vehicle. You do not need to hot wire the vehicle. Just push it and it will go. I can and do start mine with no battery in it at all.Quote:

Apologies Sleepy for diverging from the little farnarklers - speaking of how easy it is to steal old cars, I once saw a fuel lock in a classic car magazine that was designed to be fitted in the fuel line in a convenient place, such as under the seat where the owner could turn the lock on it with a key. It seems to me to be a very good anti-theft device for a Land-Rover; the trouble is I have no idea whether they are still available. Does anyone here know?

I am sure fitting a fuel tap in a hidden position would work - or a kill switch etc. (Knowing, me I'd probably forget where it was!:angel:) The old "rotor button in the pocket" trick is a good one too!
Mate hooked a kill switch into foot dimmer switch, still worked as high beam low beam but when starting only (not a kill switch then really is it...) started when highbeam switch held down...
I always thought it was a ripper idea...but the condition of the torry he did it to?....well maybe overkill..... no one was gonna steal it... (as a matter of fact when he sold it to a wrecker, just before he sold it if we had it weighed and it wouldnt get close to what it should have.....lotsa rust..... no back seat, no spare, smaller fuel tank WIRED IN (original damaged so repaired with what was in shed...) ... yeah it was...different.!

I think I'll leave the doggy doo alone - Will go and try the shed bin though good idea.
