G'day All, Very cunning indeed, LOL good one cheers Dennis
Hi there all
With it being difficult to obtain the older canister oil filters for the older series ones, I thought I would show some pictures of a modification being done by Greame Harding in SA.
He has been using this sort of modification on his series ones for the past few years, with no problems or issues.
It uses the old filter canister - but modified using a ryco filter hidden within. Before fitting to my 1954 - sharring his handy work for others to view.
Well enjoy the pictures.

Oil filter.
Shown with the bottom removed - with ryco screw in filter inside
With filter removed - showing machined internals

Hi there
We are using a RYCO Z134 filter.
Fitted it to the 1954 today, she is now breathing easy as its been a few footy season since changing.
All the best

 Mod for Bypass oil filter?
 Mod for Bypass oil filter?
		Wayne,
Please excuse my ignorance but is the filter canister modification for the bypass or full-low oil filter engines? I say that because the outer canister on your first photo looks nothing like the outer filter casing sitting beside the radiator on my '54 86" (orange in the attached photo)?
(No I haven't opened it and had a look inside yet.)
Cheers,
Chris

Yours looks like an AC Delco bypass filter Chris, as fitted to Bedford trucks. I used to have one before I re-engined my Bedford and stupidly I gave the filter awayas I have found two uses for it since then
Keep your filter is my advice, because the elements must still be widely available,
Cheers Charlie
