Post Day Trip to the Dandenongs, Vic.

    G'day,

hope you all had an enjoyable and safe Easter weekend. I went for a drive in the S1 today to the Dandenongs Sky High all went well the Landy didnt miss a beat!
i did enjoy the Queue of Cars building up behind us and then i thought i'd let them pass then about 5mins down the road there was a random breath test. the police stopped most of the vehicles that passed us i was the last their slip lane was full the officer waved me on so we continued LoL.........!

anyways some vids for you to watch, enjoy Chris!

gees i havent been on the Series 1 Enthusiasts sector for a while since i have been camping in the REMLR shed. So bit of an update! the Landy is going well only addition to the LR is an oil cooler for the eng which is soon to be fitted. im enjoying it now, i take it out for a drive every now and then. so much fun to drive compared to my spongy 83 Rangie aka couch on wheels. LoL

a bit of a story and a close call i had a heart stomping moment during the past easter break. I decided to take the Landy out for a drive on the Sunday i had my brother & my 4yr old nephew with me, we were driving along when a car beside us decided to vere / drift towards us i hit the brakes and this car went into my lane the same car did it a few times and we could see the driver was looking for a street / house, but driving with her head turned and would veer off the road couldnt keep it straight, unbelievable! thankfully an accident was avoided. i only had just got my Landy on the Road!

anyways here's some pics of my Landy throught the year. to start off with a before and after!

also, my Landy is going to be published in the "Land Rover Owner International" Magazine.
in the readers vehicles section. I will inform you all when it is published.

    cheers. Chris

thanks digger, yeah the D shackles worked well on the back of the tow truck a few times. blinkers are still the 50mm ones (for Roadworthy), i goto switch them back to the Harley ones. looks better.

yeah the wiper reversed set up seems to work quite well. i put it on that side to try and hide it behind my switch panel.

the head light screens are still on it, i bought them from the UK made in stainless steel they come with three little brackets each side which mount to the main rim screws then the mesh screens pop into place and i secured them by tying fuses wire through every bracket. ill take a macro shot for evryone to see.

the name sounds good too. was gona call it TheFox after the previous owers surname maybe i can call it "Marilyn Fox" sounds good!

    cheers Chris

hi Ian, thanks mate. The only major hick up i had was the brakes, honestly i lost hair over it LoL i had a new pair of wheel cylinders i bought from Ebay big mistake! they leaked, i pulled them off re surfaced them re asembled with rubber greased em, re bled and still leaked. then the brake shoes got soaked and started to melt! yes melt. made an absolute mess, then the landy got stuck in reverse the brakes would lock up while reversing. i had out of shape shoes to the drums. my fault because i should of had more sense & grab the old wheel cylinders re sleeve them in stainless with new pistons & PBR seal kit. and have the drums machined and the origional shoes re lined to match each drum. 4 goes later i finally got the brakes working A1, the thing stops better than my 83 Rangie!

    what problems did you have?

    Cheers Chris

    Hi Chris
My problems started when I heard about the collection of bits and pieces
and continued for 3 years until it was finished, one day I will write the whole truth and nothing the truth
    cheers
