    Series 1 Letter Box

Just spent a couple of weeks in south island of NZ and came accross this letterbox between Queenstown and Arrowtown.

Also saw 6 Series 1's semmingly abandoned that would be good projects. A couple of examples include:

Seems there are some good opportunites overe there.

NZ is the place to get bits for S1 88" Station Wagons, it seems that there were dozens of them imported whereas in Oz there were only a few.

    Interesting Kiwi modifications.

A single outer door skin on the first one, and what looks like framed flyscreen inserts on the canopy Don't worry about the gaps

I wonder how much a 40' container is? Preferably one that doesn't fall of the ship in Moreton Bay

Yes the Kiwi's seemed to have played around a bit with them. Also saw a 109 converted to a king cab but didn't have the camera. Looked like it had been done a long time ago and was a good coversion.

    Regards, Barry

Don't know about these framed looking "windows" but the OEM canvas hoods for the 80" had a fine bronze gauze instead of clear plastic.

Some young hooligan will come and smash it up....or it will fade to something hideously sad
Well if it was in OZ, it would be already 'removed' and sitting in someone elses bar/shed/pool room

In the words of the late Joh, "Don't you worry about that".

My guess is that there is a tame but ferocious Yeti lurking in the rear undergrowth with a cord & a bell around it's leg, or 2 x barrels of a12g pointing at the box. Move the S1 & you're a goner.

    Well, it might be true.

Ever seen someone do a bungy jump with the rope tied around their neck instead of their ankles
