Question Which one is correct? LUCAS PLC6 Ignition/Light switch or?

    Hi,

I am looking at the following ignition switches which are claimed to be for the Land Rover 1... They are both claimed to be PLC6 of Lucas, but they do differ. Which one is right, or are they both?
    and/or

(Does anyone know the functions/settings of these?)

However, if I look in the parts book I see another design....

    So which one is it?
    Or which ones are they?

Maybe it is model specific,... which one would suit a 88" petrol of 1958?

    Thanks,

    Kris

    neither is right

One of those looks like a 80" switch ( 1948-53 ) .. the other looks like a car switch ??? You need the type..as in your drawing .. 1954-58 . They changed the whole dashboard layout in 1954 for the 86" ..nothing from the earlier S1 dash 48-53, will fit your dash ... except for the two little jacks , and the warning light maybe .

The two images you show are for the 80" models - at least 1 is.

The Image on the left is the PLC-6 L133 (LU-34035) the correct one for the 80"

The image on the Right is the PLC-6 LU-34055 the correct one for MG etc.

The one you want for your 88" is the LU-031369 at least that is the number in the 1954-57 parts book.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

    key

They both look right to me the one on the right with the window to display the state of the light switch is off the early 80" ie 48/9 and the other from later 80"s. parts book should identify when it changed.
I don’t think the drawing type was used on S1s, the later switch on 86's etc is different again.
