			1950 engine number..HELP

I'm asking in desperation..In order to fulfill the current red tape of the registration process .. I need to find the original reg. number and or engine number of 1950 chassis R06100809 .

Does anyone know the approximate engine number ( within 100 if possible ) for that chassis. It was a Regents Motors CKD I believe . I can do a AOMC records search..but I need to find the original engine number or one close to it as their records are engine number based..

Thanks for any assistance .. the original motor is long gone BTW
 Mike

					Thanks Bob,

That gives me an idea of where to start looking in the AOMC records. Those Victorian car numbers are close to mine ..much appreciated

			Vic Rego dates

					Mike,

 This might help also:
These dates are delivery dates from a country Vic dealer.

 OE184 delivery date 8/11/1949
 OE150 delivery date 19/11/1949
 OL471 delivery date 21/11/1949
 OL912 delivery date 22/11/1949
 OP980 delivery date 18/1/1950
 OE256 delivery date 23/1/1950
 OY860, OY861, OY862 delivery date 22/5/1950

So I think you would be looking around October/November for your registration.

If you can find your vehicle in the AOMC records you could make it quite forcefully to the bureaucrats at your local RTA that it should not be your job as their employer to do the job that they should be doing and that it needed a cry for help to other enthusiasts to get information they should have kept (probably under some other Govt legislation - like maybe an Archives Act!).

			OK

					Right

I'm going to contact the AOMC and arrange a personal search by me..if thats possible. I am a current member of a AOMC club , so they should be more than happy to oblige . They can be very beaurocratic in their own ways ..almost as bad as the RTA . I'm pretty sure I will find It OK ... I just have to explain my situation . They charge a search fee, and without the engine number they charge an additional fee ... takes 6 - 8 weeks .
