    RACV City to Cape Rally

Is anyone from the forum taking their Series 1 on the RACV City to Cape Rally on 25th October ?

I've just sent off for an entry form, vehicles must be more than 50 years old to take part (not sure yet if any costs are involved).
The rally is open to cars, commercial vehicles, buses, fire appliances, military vehicles, motorcycles and combinations. Starting in St Kilda and/or Frankston heading down to the RACV Resort at Cape Schank.

Entry is $30 which includes commemorative badge & morning tea at the start. You can also pre-pay for a buffet lunch at the Cape Schanck Resort.

Starts from Deaf Children Australia building in St Kilda at 9.00am although they are aiming for over 300 cars so could be a while before you get away.

Not sure about the note that 'period attire for participants is encouraged'.

Hope to see a few more Land Rovers taking part.........

    Hi Colin,

A friend of mine went to this last year with his Vaxhaul Viva & said it was great, obviously my landy wasnt ready then but its almost ready now im just waiting on my brake drums from Rova Parts Plus once they come in then i can bleed my brakes and thats it. Do you know if this RACV event accepts club registered vehicles on the day? i'm putting my Landy on Club Rego.

most likley id be going fingers crossed!

    Cheers,

    Chris

    Chris,

It is a Permitted Event so Club permit is OK.
Entries close 25th September so you might want to make contact with the organisers, I have a contact & phone number somewhere ( published in the June RACV magazine). Maybe you can submit the form, pay the entry and phone with the Club permit details before the event.

Just found that they will accept 'run-on' model vehicles so all Series 2 vehicles (not 2a) can be entered.

After a few showers on the way to St Kilda the sun came out and it was a great day. Very windy at Cape Schanck but some fantastic vehicles on display.
We were the only Land Rover there, and probably one of the only unrestored vehicles. Created a bit of interest....

One real vehicle in amongst all those show ponies.

Good to see you flying the flag so to speak.
